Lotus Herbals Berryscrub Strawberry and Aloe Vera Exfoliating Face Wash Review

Hello everyone! Here I'm reviewing a face wash that I've been loving lately which is the Lotus Herbals Berryscrub Strawberry and Aloe Vera Exfoliating Face Wash.

Details: For skin that looks as good as it feels, try our scrub gel. The creamy lather cleanses and natural exfoliaters polish your skin to reveal dazzling complexion.
Priced at Rs 125 for 80g.

My verdict: Lotus Herbals was a new brand that I was introduced to this year, I had not tried their products before. My experience with their wide range of products has been simply amazing. Now talking about this product, the face wash comes in a light yellow coloured tube with a flip top cap. The face wash is a bit runny and oozes out of the tube very fast. It has tiny granules suspended in a gel and appears like a cross between a face wash and scrub. It has a fruity refreshing fragrance of strawberries.  A tiny amount is required for one use and it lathers pretty well. It leaves the skin feeling soft and cleansed. It doubles up as a scrub and while I use this I tend to skip scrubbing. It does not make the skin dry. There's something about it that I can't quite describe but it feels different from other face washes and by different I mean it feels better.

All in all it is a wonderful cleanser and I would urge you to buy it since it is quite an impressive product. It can be easily bought online.

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner-Black Review

Hello everyone! Today I'm reviewing my favorite eyeliner , the Maybelline Eye studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner- black. (This post is coming after almost a week , been a little occupied and overwhelmed with work and classes).

Details: Here's what the brand says

  • Only our oil free formula can hold highly concentrated pigments in a clear gel base
  • So color is more intense and lines resist wear for hours
  • Smudge prrof and water proof
  • The most intense line for lasting drama.

Priced at Rs. 475 for 2.8g

My verdict: Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner is the third eyeliner which I've tried from this brand, first being the Colossal Kajal and second the Hypersharp Liner. This particular one comes in a small plastic container with a black screw closure and an applicator brush (I just love this square case). The colour of the liner is super black and the finish is matte. The texture is creamy making it glide smoothly on the lids.  It can also be worn on the waterline. It dries real quick and does not budge for hours. Also the intense black color does not fade and stays put. (But a friend has experienced that it smudges and accumulates a little at both the corners of the eye after wearing for an entire day but I haven't encountered this problem). The brush that comes along with it has densely packed soft bristles which make application very neat and easy. Also, a very tiny quantity is required at one time, you just have to barely touch the brush to the gel and it picks up enough product to line one eye. I am very clumsy with eyeliners and I usually end up messing it but this one from Maybelline has given me the cleanest results (after a couple of uses). It does not smudge even after coming in contact with water so you need a proper make up remover or a good cleanser to take it off.

Here's what I'd say finally, I urge you to get this if you haven't already. It is a great product to have in your makeup essentials and will solve all the eyeliner problems that you've faced till today.

Coloressence Nail Colour - Blue Hues Review

Hello folks! I'm reviewing here Coloressence Nail Colour in the shade Blue Hues. I hope you like it.

Details: Coloressence is the sub brand of Nature's Essence that deals in color cosmetics. The company has almost everything under skin care, hair care, body care and makeup, color cosmetics making it one of the top one stop shop for all cosmetic requirements.
Key features of the nail colour:
High color intensity
Quick dry formula
Plethora of striking colours
Salon perfect look
Lasting stay power
Priced at Rs 50 for 5 ml.

My verdict: Coloressence nail colours are great budget beauties which come in a variety of shades. Blue hues is a cool pastel blue colour that looks extremely pretty. The nail paint formula is a bit sheer and also appears streaky. Three coats are needed for the streaks to disappear and the actual colour to show up. These are quick drying enamels that last 3-4 days without chipping. This particular colour may not flatter all skin tones but light to medium skinned girls can flaunt it with ease as the colour will come out beautifully on their hands. (Makes my hands look darker too but I love it anyway ).  This nail colour range from Coloressence is super cheap and still manages to impress. There's a shade for everyone and you must give it a try if you don't want to experiment with pricier nail paints.

VLCC Sweat Free Sunblock Lotion SPF 40/PA+++ - Review

Details: ( VLCC claims) This lotion provides Broad Spectrum sun protection against both UVA & UVB rays of the sun. A unique sweat free formulation that protects the skin against sun damage thus preventing tanning and ageing. Enriched with comfrey plant extract, its anti irritant properties protect the skin against irritation and redness while non greasy formula lends a satin smooth feel to the skin. Priced at Rs 325 for 100g.

My verdict: VLCC Sweat Free Sun Block lotion SPF 40 comes in a bright yellow and white tube with orange cap. The product inside is white coloured and has a thick consistency which is quite unlike lotions. Has an artificial smell which isn't too strong. The first thing that you observe is the difficulty to blend it which is a stumbling block of the product for me. It feels pretty heavy on the skin but does not leave a white cast. The facial skin feels oily and sweaty after a few minutes of application of the product, therefore it CANNOT be used in summers. I bought this in May and after a couple of uses it just kept sitting on my vanity untouched. However, I have started using it again these last few days and I've come to observe that it is actually good for winters. It is not making the skin oily these days. I reach out for it everyday and slather a good amount on my face and hands before basking in the sun. Rounding up the post , this sun block lotion is apt for dry winters but it is too rich and heavy to be used in summers.

Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Watermelon Review

Hello everyone! Today I'm reviewing a lip balm from a range that has been a true favourite of mine for years, the Nivea Fruity Shine lip balm in Watermelon.

Details: What Nivea claims
  • The innovative formula of Nivea Fruity Shine with hydra IQ gives long lasting moisturisation. The combination of chosen pigments provides am exciting fruity fragrance leaving a touch of delicate color on soft and smooth lips.
  • Delights your delicate lips
  • Beautifies lips with a soft glossy color
  • Provides long lasting moisture for your lips.
Priced at Rs 140 for 4.8g.

My verdict: Nivea Fruity Shine lip balm in Watermelon comes in a pretty pink packaging. The bullet is the same color as the cap. Watermelon was a new addition to the Nivea lip balm range this year. This particular flavour has a slight pink tint that is barely visible (that is why no swatch) and a fruity pleasant smell of watermelon which you grow used to. It has shimmery particles that do not show up on the lips unless looked at very closely. The lip balm imparts a soft sheen and is well moisturising. It is butter smooth on the lips and provides sun protection as well. These lip balms don't feel sticky at all and do their job pretty well, lasting a good 3-4 hours. I have extremely dry lips and use these throughout the year. All other flavours have their distinct smell and tints. Theses are great budget buys and easily last around three months.

Lakme 9 to 5 Long Wear Nail Colour - Rose Rush Review

Hello everyone, today I'm reviewing yet another nail paint ( that makes three in a row :P) which is the Lakme 9 to 5 Long Wear nail colour in the shade Rose Rush.

Details: This nail colour belongs to the very successful and popular Lakme 9 to 5 range. The collection consists of a wide array of cosmetics for daily office wear that require no touchups throughout the day (the brand claims that). Talking about the nail paint, its long lasting shine locks moisture and leaves you with a breathtaking shine.

My verdict: Rose Rush is the very first nail colour that I tried from this range (it was a gift :D ). It is a bright pink shade that is utterly stylish. It comes in a circular bottle with a wide brush. A very summery pink polish that is super lustrous. The texture is creamy and the finish is matte with lots of shine. It requires two proper coats for the actual  colour to show, and dries almost instantly.  This particular nail paint lasts 5-6 days on my hands and after that too minimal fading is observed. There's absolutely no issue with it and its the best nail paint in terms of texture and longevity in my collection currently. Nail paint lovers should definitely give this a try.
